When the project is in the New state, you can exclude the content fields from the localization scope.
Follow the steps:
1. Open the project.
2. Open the Job that contains content items with fields you would like to exclude from localization.
3. Disable Localize toggle near the field you need to exclude from localization.
If you need additional information about the field, you can just click the information icon at the field title.
4. In case you need to disable all fields or many fields at once, you can use the Localize toggle on the item's level.
5. Save the changes. There are three options:
Save for job
Changes are applied only to the job that you are working on at the moment.
When to use?
When you just need to exclude the fields in the opened job and do not want these changes to be applied to other jobs.
Save for all languages
Changes are applied to the same content in other jobs (languages) that belong to one project besides the opened one.
When to use?
When you want to exclude the same fields of the source content from the localization scope for all other languages. This way, you won't need to open each job for each language and exclude fields manually.
Save for content type
Changes are applied to the parent items of the same content type and the children items of the same content type ID in all jobs that belong to one project.
When to use?
For example, you have the field Meta Title and you want it to be removed from localization because SEO data in your localization flow is managed separately. This field may be a part of many content items.
To exclude it quickly, you can open one job, disable the toggle near the Meta Title field in one item, and click Save for content type. This way, you won't need to open each job for each language and each content (provided the content type is the same) and exclude fields manually.
Note: Please consider that if you make changes for the parent item and use the "Save for content type" option, the system saves changes for the content type disregarding the Content ID. However, if you make changes to the children's items and use the "Save for content type" option, the system saves changes for the content type with the same ID only.
Important: the "Save" buttons work for the entire page. So if you change something in Briefing, the changes will be applied according to the option you chose (Save for content type/Save for all languages. Save for job).
