If you need to add instructions for translators to a specific Job of the Order, you can do this from extensions or in Localization Hub.
To add instructions in CMS, read the corresponding guides for your CMS:
In this article, we are talking about adding and editing instructions in Localization Hub. Follow the steps:
1. Open the Job you need to add instructions to.
2. Find the Briefing textbox and write your instructions. The maximum character number you can add is 500.
3. Save the changes. You have the following options:
Save for job
Changes are applied only to the job that you are working on at the moment.
When to use?
When you just need to add the instructions to the opened job and do not want these changes to be applied to other jobs.
Save for all languages
Changes are applied to other jobs (languages) with the same content that belong to one Order besides the opened one.
When to use?
When you want to add instructions for all languages and jobs that contain the content in the opened job. This way, you won't need to open each job for each language and copy-paste the instructions.
Save for content type
Changes are applied to the jobs with parent items of the same content type as the current job parent item content type.
When to use?
When you want to add instructions for all languages and jobs that contain the content of the same content type as the content in the opened job. This way, you won't need to open each job for each language and copy-paste the instructions.
Important: the "Save" buttons work for the entire page. So if you change something in Fields, the changes will be applied according to the option you chose (Save for content type/Save for all languages. Save for job). To find out how to exclude specific fields from localization, take a look at this article.
4. Once you save the Job Briefing, you can find it in the Order view.
And also in the translation tools here:
In Notes if you have Phrase (form. Memsource) CAT tool. Just click on any segment to see a Note
In View Pane if you have memoQ. To open the View Pane, navigate to the "View" tab and click on the toggle button labeled View Pane located in the Navigation section.
In memoQ, instructions can be viewed in the View Pane within the briefing section, which can be accessed through the following path: /file/body/briefing.
