1. Open the page, block or product you need to order for translation.
2. Click New project to navigate to the order form.
3. Specify the project details such as:
- Service — a collection of predefined settings used to process your translation project. If there's only one Service in your Workspace, it will be selected automatically.
- Requested due date. It is the date by which you expect the project to be completed.
Translators can view this date in the Localization Hub.
In the Optimizely extension, this date appears in the Due column on the Jobs page, within the table listing all jobs.
Once translators set the actual due date, the Due column will automatically update to reflect the revised timeline.
💡 For new projects: The requested due date is applied to both the overall translation project and all jobs within it.
💡 For existing projects: The due date applies only to the newly added jobs and does not change the project’s overall due date.
- Project Type (Personal or Shared). Personal projects are seen only by their owners and users with admin rights. Shared projects can include jobs initiated by different users.
-
Project Selection:
Select New Project when the content is not related to any existing work or if you want to manage it as a separate initiative. The system will automatically assign a unique project number. To make the project easier to identify, you can also enter a user-friendly Project Name.
To add jobs to an existing project, select Existing Project, then choose the corresponding project number from the dropdown.
- Briefing. Instructions for translators that apply to all jobs within the project. These instructions are visible in the Localization Hub and translation tools.
- Cost Center. Select the cost center in the dropdown. If you don't see the Cost Center, no Cost Center is attached to the Service.
- Immediate project launch (available for Optimizely 11). If enabled, the content will be transferred to the CAT tool at once, and the project will be moved to the next workflow step ("In Progress"), so new jobs can not be added to the project. If disabled, the content will be stored in Localization Hub until manually or by Hub's automation is pushed to the CAT tool.
4. Decide whether you need to order just the page you selected without related child blocks or the page you selected together with child blocks.
You can choose which child blocks to order together with the page. It's not obligatory to select all of them. The ID of each child block is in brackets.
5. Choose the target languages. In the table, you can see the list of the target languages and the Status of translation for a specific target language.
Use the Status filter to find the target languages of a specific status.
6. At the end of the order form, you’ll either create a new project or add jobs to an existing one — based on your earlier selection.
Create – Starts a new project without launching it. You can add more jobs later.
Create & Launch – Creates and launches the project immediately. No further jobs can be added.
Add jobs – Adds jobs to an existing open project. You can continue adding more before launch.
Add jobs & Launch – Adds the jobs and launches the project in one step.
💡 Button names may vary depending on your service setup (e.g., “Submit” or “Send for Translation”).
7. To see the detailed view of each order for a specific content item, click Jobs.
You will see all translation jobs with detailed information, such as:
- Job and Project numbers
- Content ID, Name and Type
- Source and Target language
- Version of the content
- Service
- User
- Status
- Due date
- Updated date
The blue-colored properties contain active links which you can follow for more details. Job and Project numbers navigate to the Localization Hub. Source and Target languages lead to other pages in Optimizely.
If you see the badge "Outdated", this means that the source page was updated with the new content and the translation might be outdated.
Once the translation is complete, follow this guide to fetch the translated content from the Localization Hub into Optimizely and publish it. it.
